
Intermediate & Advanced Gymnastics Classes
Intermediate classes are for children ages 8 - 11 who have mastered all basic gymnastics skills. They learn walkovers, and they begin tumbling. The advanced class teaches running tumbling for children ages 9 - 13 who have mastered the basic skills and learned walkovers and beginning tumbling.

To be eligible for this class, children must have attended at least 1 full year of gymnastics and be evaluated by a Gymnastic Academy of Boston instructor. Children will work towards more advanced tumbling and acro- skills such as walkovers, handsprings, master handstands on the beam, and begin working high bar skills. Each class is 75 minutes.

INTERMEDIATE ii
Children must have attended at least 2 full years of gymnastics and be evaluated by a Gymnastic Academy of Boston instructor to be eligible for this class. Children focus on learning running tumbling, kips on the bars and cartwheels, and full turns on the balance beam. Each class is 90 minutes.

ADVANCED
Children signing up for the advanced girls class must have already acquired running tumbling skills, all basic skills on uneven bars, the ability to vault over the table and be comfortable working advanced acro-skills on the balance beam. This class is run alongside the Intermediate II class as an example of how far recreational gymnastics can take you. The advanced class is also great for gymnasts who may have been on Team and no longer wish to compete, but still want to practice gymnastics for other disciplines (such as cheer) or for personal fitness. Each class is 90 minutes.

teens
This class is geared towards young adults who have never attended gymnastics or who have not attended gymnastics since early childhood. They will work towards developing coordination, balance, and overall body awareness through gymnastics skill knowledge on all events. Classes may work on mastering a wide range of skills from beginner cartwheels to advanced tumbling and acro- skills such as walkovers, handsprings, and handstands. Each class is 75 minutes.
